Nkolo Orthopaedics Rehabilitation Center (NORC) is a community-focused facility in Kasana, Luweero District, Uganda, dedicated to restoring mobility and dignity for persons living with disabilities. Founded in 2020 by Dr. Mubiru Nelson, NORC provides high-quality, affordable, and compassionate orthopaedic and rehabilitation services that change lives every day.
Our work is rooted in empathy, lived experience, and a firm belief that every person regardless of their background or financial status deserves equal access to functional independence and healthcare.

Oue story
From Struggle to Service
The vision for NORC was born from a personal journey of resilience. In 2009, our founder, Dr. Mubiru Nelson, faced extreme hardship unable to afford school fees, he became a street boy and later worked as a taxi conductor in Kampala just to survive.
His life took a turn when Fields of Life, a nonprofit organization, offered him sponsorship through Maurice and Ruth Haggai. This opportunity enabled him to return to school and later graduate with a Diploma in Orthopaedics Technology (Prosthetics and Orthotics). Inspired by the support he received, Dr. Mubiru founded NORC in 2020 to give others the same opportunity for healing and hope.
